Blessed with Good Friends

Standard

Last weekend, my best friend Haley and her boyfriend Ben, came to stay with us. Ben’s sister Melinda just started going to Baylor this summer so they got to see her too!

It was so great to see Haley and to get to know Ben! On Saturday, Elliot and Ben had fun golfing while Haley, Melinda and I went to breakfast and then made homemade strawberry ice cream! Quite possibly the best, and most healthy ice cream that I have ever had!

We went to lunch at this new restaurant called, “Fat Ho Burgers.” What an adventure.. It has become famous because of the name and because you can order a, “Supa Fly Fat Ho,” which is really just a burger with cheese. The place is definitely in the ghetto part of Waco but it was funny to go and see what so many people had been talking about.

The entire weekend was so much fun and it was so good to have such good people with us! I can’t wait until they come and stay with us again!

Oh Baby!

Our friends from church, Jr and Chelsea, finally had their little girl, Carter Lynn, last week! It was so exciting to wake up to a text saying that she was on her way!

We visited the hospital the day after she was born and oh, is she precious! She was handed to me and all I thought was that she was so, so tiny! We are so excited for them and the blessing of life that God has given them. We cannot wait to watch Carter grow and develop into a beautiful little girl.

Erin and Aaron’s Wedding!

Standard

My sweet cousin Erin got married last Saturday and it was so much fun! Her, her sister Allie and I have been close growing up and it was a joy to see her so happy!

The wedding was a blast! I loved spending the whole day with family! What was also so much fun was the dancing! Ever since our wedding, 7 months ago, I have been waiting to get to dance and party at someone’s wedding. And the time finally came!

We are so happy for the Schricks and cannot wait to see what God has in store for their lives and marriage.

Time With Family

Standard

This past week, I travelled home for my cousin Erin’s wedding (Elliot followed for the weekend). It was so much fun and such good time spent with family!

I got in late Wednesday night and so Thursday was my first chance to meet my new second cousin, Reagan Elizabeth! And I absolutely love her! I loved getting to spend time holding this beautiful bundle of joy. Birdie enjoyed herself too.. she licked rib juice form the grills throughout the day while they were cooking.. She has indeed been paying for it which is not so fun for me..

My entire family was able to come in for the wedding and it was so good to get to see everyone! Wedding info and a picture to come!

4th of July!

Standard

I haven’t updated in a while.. We have been busy!

For the 4th, we travelled home to Norman. Birdie enjoyed the ride.. She slept on my lap practically the whole time!

Being home was so good and refreshing after Elliot’s first week as a full time worker. Birdie LOVED my parent’s backyard and spent most of her time playing in the monkey grass, eating sticks and loving her outdoor wonderland. While at home we got to go to a wedding and celebrate the 4th and my Dad’s birthday! It was fun, blessed time spent with our family.

Our sister, Ashley, decided to come home to Waco with us for the week! It has been so fun having a companion while Elliot is gone all day! We have been trying to stay busy in the exciting Waco but, we ran into a roadblock of fun when one of my wisdom teeth got infected..

Yes, I still have my wisdom teeth.. not for long though! I have known forever that I needed to get them removed, but between going to college and Korea and getting married, my time has been pretty full! Well, after waking up with terrible pain in my mouth and going to the dentist, I haven learned that it is in my near future to have the long-awaited oral surgery. That I have been dreading. Forever.

I am happy to report that the antibiotics I have been taking are like a miracle drug! My pain is practically gone! Let the fun in exciting Waco continue!

We all went to the Student Life Center on Baylor’s campus today! Ashley and Elliot climbed the rock wall and we all swam! It was fun having the whole day to be together!

There will be more fun to come! We still have four days with her here!
