Half a year old. I feel so wise. I’m not sure how the next six months could top the last but I’m excited to see what the new year will bring!
Let’s just take a moment of silence for the awesomeness that is Christmas. As I understand it, this blessed occurrence will take place every year. There has been much discussion about a fat, jolly man- are they talking about me? No matter, I will be a fan of Christmas for the rest of my days.
But, after Christmas comes… January. Bleh, what a blah month. I heard someone mention that living in Louisville in January is like living on the moon. Truer words have never been spoken. The good news is though that since I have a summer birthday, January will be the month that Mom will bring birthday treats for my classes to enjoy as I celebrate turning 1/2 a year older. You’re welcome for this ray of sunshine and deliciousness, classmates.
This month I ate a lot! I tried egg yolk, bananas, bananas with spinach, applesauce, pears, butternut squash, peas, and carrots. Saying that I was not a fan of carrots is an understatement. I HATE carrots! Upon taking my first bite I was so repulsed that I gagged so hard I threw up for the first time ever! Gross. It was hard to feed me solids for a few days, I was traumatized. It didn’t help that two of my staples, sweet potatoes and butternut squash, are also bright orange.. I am still pretty much only satisfied by my bottles anyway so no harm no foul.
I have almost mastered the art of sitting up by myself. The one thing that is holding me back is balance.. I can’t quite understand how one is supposed to be able to balance a head that is essentially the same size as the torso. I will soon figure it out (or hopefully I will elongate a bit as has been my plea for months) and move on to other endeavors. I do love playing with my toys and just about everything finds its way into my mouth.

You read that right, 11th percentile! It turns out that I’m not actually that big of a baby just condensed and therefore, stout.
