A Great Time to be a Baylor Bear

Standard

What an exciting time it has been in Baylor football! I am not huge into sports but this year has been an exciting exception!

Baylor held a Heisman watch party with free food in the Student Union Building. There were SO MANY people there, we waited in the food line for 30 minutes! They had t.v’s in every room and students were crowded around them waiting to hear if Robert Griffin would win.

When they announced his name as the winner. everyone screamed and jumped up and down. It was such an incredible moment for Baylor to be in the spotlight like that. Needless to say, Baylor football has been awesome this year and has changed the feel on campus a bit. Students and the community alike have become interested in the athletics and it has definitely been a positive for the university.

RG3!!!! We were so excited!!

Christmas on 5th Street

Standard

Christmas on 5th is a Baylor tradition where students can come and have hot chocolate, see a live nativity scene, ride camels, and experience live music! There are a lot of things to do and many alumni and professors come and bring their kids so it is a community event.

This year we went with our friends Chris and Becky and had a lot of fun! It was uncharacteristically warm this year so we walked around outside a bit more to see all that was going on.

Every year we get our picture in from of the Christmas tree in the SUB and it is fun to see how we’ve changed throughout the years. Check facebook for older pics!

Our Christmas Tree

Standard

Even though it is technically our second Christmas together, it feel smore like our first. Christmastime is our favorite and is always a reminder of God’s constant hand in our lives.

We decided to use the same little tree I had last year since our living room is so tiny and we weren’t sure how Birdie would react to it ( a week later she did try to eat a glass ornament so we had to remove them for the duration of Christmas 2011)!

It has been a sweet season so far and I feel so blessed beyond words at how God has blessed me.

Home for Thanksgiving

Standard

We went to Norman for Thanksgiving and had so much fun with friends and family! The first night we were back, we had dinner and bowling with my best friends from high school and their men! It was so much fun and Caroline, who is getting married in August, asked all of us to be bridesmaids! I am so excited to get to celebrate with her!

The week was pretty low-key overall. We celebrated Thanksgiving with family and hung out. Birdie had a blast running around the backyard and getting loved on more than ever!

On Saturday we went to the OU game. We had been wanting to experience OU game day since neither of us had since high school and we missed the hoopla. It was a cold, rainy day and we were blessed to be in club seating so we had indoor options. It was so much fun to hang out with our dads and jay at the game and even though our allegiance has shifted a bit towards the Bears, we will always cheer for OU too!
